And I am still shaken by this news. While reading some forums, I read an article that really shocked me: There was once a young girl who got pregnant when she was only 5 years old (yes!!!! five! lima! cinco! ) and she started having her period when she was 3 (oh my God, what about those cramps?!). Yula and I had to stop working and read the whole story to feed our curiosity. We uttered countless "what?!", "eeww", and "huh?!" as we read the little girl’s story. Can you imagine your baby sister to look like this at five:

Her breasts were already developed (fuller than mine today, hehe)
at such a young age and until now, I just can’t imagine a very innocent
kid in a delivery room…. The worst part of the story is that when the
girl was examined, doctors found out that she was molested. Her father
was accused of raping her, but he was released when no sufficient
evidence was found against him. The little girl couldn’t give clear answers
when she was interrogated hence, the suspect was never charged of any
liability.
No, I am not a freak. You can read the whole story here.

I found this list while I was searching the Net for some info about my project. At
first, I thought that the things listed below were all made to feed men’s ego. However, while I was reading them, I realized that some of these are (unfortunately) true :
Why it is better to be a man:
1. Your ass is never a factor in a job interview.
2. Your orgasms are real. Always.
3. Your last name stays put.
4. The garage is all yours.
5. Wedding plans take care of themselves.
6. You never feel compelled to stop a friend from getting laid.
7. Car mechanics tell you the truth.
8. You don’t give a rat’s ass if someone notices your new haircut.
9. Hot wax never comes near your pubic area.
10. Same work .. more pay.
11. Wrinkles-add character.
12. You don’t have to leave the room to make emergency crotch adjustments.
13. Wedding Dress $2000; Tux rental $100
14. If you retain water, it’s in a canteen
15. People never glance at your chest when you’re talking to them
16. New shoes don’t cut, blister, or mangle your feet
17. One mood, ALL the damn time
18. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds
19. A five-day vacation requires only 1 suitcase
20. You can open all your own jars
21. You can quietly watch a game with your buddy for hours without ever thinking "He must be mad at me."
22. No maxi-pads
23. If another guy shows up at the party in the same outfit, you just might become lifelong friends
24. You are not expected to know the names of more than five colors
25. You don’t have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt
26. You are unable to see wrinkles in clothes
27. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades
28. Your belly usually hides your big hips
But hey, I still believe in GIRL POWER!!!
– btw, have you seen the metrobank commercial where the company used the tagline, "You’ve always had the power." wla lng, i like that!

There’s this song that I heard in NU that I really liked. I think it took months before I could know the title of the song and the artist who performed it. However, when I learned about the things that I was dying to know, I read in Wikipedia that Fall As Well just disbanded.. Huhu.. Here’s the story. And here’s the song:

Again I find myself on an empty road
Wondering why I feel like hell right now
Just like the way I felt back then
And I keep thinkin’ I could die
If I could make you love me
If just for one night
‘Cause you’re my secret
Alone I see myself in you, lazy eye
I wake up, see you, standing in the doorway
You were crying, but I was only dreaming
On a day like today when there is nothing
Left for me to say
I look outside my window
And I pray for it to rain my pain away
And wonder why I keep you locked away
No one can find you
It’s ’cause I’m lazy
‘Cause you’re my secret
Alone I see myself in you, lazy eye
I wake up, see you, standing in the doorway
You were crying, but I was only dreaming
You lazy eye
Lazy eye
Lazy eye
And you’re my secret
Alone I see myself in you
I wake up, see you, standing in the doorway
You were crying, but I was only dreaming
And you’re my secret
Alone I see myself in you, lazy eye
I wake up, see you, standing in the doorway
You were crying, but I was only dreaming
Lazy eye
Lazy eye
Lazy eye…

Yep.. because almost all of my traumatic and horrible experiences happened in Cubao. Let me name some:
– The first time that I watched PBA in Araneta Coliseum, Ginebra loss the game
– When I watched The Silent Bell (again, in Araneta Coliseum), a snatcher took my friend’s necklace. I got home at around 12 midnight because we have to report the incident at the police station. The whole reporting thing almost took forever.
– Two of my lost in the city experiences happended in Cubao. One was when I was looking for my way to Kamuning and the other was when I was looking for a Novaliches Bayan bus. Grrr!!!
– Gateway.. Ooops! I know a lot of people will raise their eyebrows once they read this. Well, I like going to malls but not in Gateway. The place is always packed with pa-sossy and real sossy people. I guess I am at home when I am in SM — a more laid-back place. A schoolmate in college once told me that he started hating Cubao because of Gateway. He said that he and his friends used to just wander around Cubao and feel free and relaxed because people there are busy and do not really care how you dress. But ever since Kris Aquino’s face flaunted around the metro, they knew they will never walk around Cubao the same way again.
– Cubao girls… Those women in high heels and chic outfits… They can just push you whenever that jam-packed MRT arrives. They don’t care if they had stepped on you or thrown you out of their way just to get inside the train.. Ugh!

But there is one place in Cubao that I just fell
in love with. I forgot the name, but my sister brought me to this
thrift shop where voluminous old and interesting books are sold. I just
loooove that spot!!!

My family is such a basketball fanatic. Before my before my father’s sperm cell met my mother’s egg cell, my parents were already big PBA fans. No wonder I am a PBA junkie today. They often tell stories about Jaworski, Toyota vs. Crispa, and most especially Ginebra. Actually, you are not a certified Ramos if you are not a Ginebra fan. Hence, I grew up liking Bal David, Gayoso, Jarencio, blah blah. My parents did not impose to us (my sister and I) to like Ginebra, but we grew up liking the team. I even know the song "Pagbigyan nyo na ko.. paminsan-minsan lang ito…" — ya, that Ginebra song, and all other Ginebra-related moments. I can still remember that long three-point shot by Bal David (yung game against Pop), that injury that Caidic had (which, according to some Ginebra haters, was caused by Jawo — he was a playing-coach that time), that Marlou Aquino (when he was still in Ginebra) days, and more. I think I can never get them out of my system na. But, I like it anyway. hehe.. Today, I barely watch TV due to my work, but I am still updated on what’s happening on the PBA… and I love the latest Philippine basketball news.

The 2007 All-Filipino Championship starts tonight. It’s going to be a best of seven battle between Brgy. Ginebra and San Miguel. I am happy about it, but I guess Danding is more thrilled. I hope I can watch game three next week.. ^_^

It’s that time of the week again… I’m feeling the Friday syndrome.. This means that I feel lazy doing my job, and I just want to go home early…Well, maybe not to go home early but to get out the office early..hehe..
Last night, my sister kept me waiting for her at Powerbooks. I was there for almost two hours.. Good thing I saw the Last Order sa Penguin by Chris Martinez. It was pretty hilarious.
Tonight, the TCS (well, not everyone from the department) is going to Tagaytay..bonding chorva.. We need and deserve a break..

Finally, after kong mangarap kung kelan ako maga-absent sa work, natupad din dahil nagkasakit ako. Yahoo! Kaya lang di na ako Employee of the Year dahil may absent na ako. Hehe. Haha.Medyo okay na pakiramdam ko. in fainrness…

The reason why I am doing this post is because I read Holden’s post about his 2006 life. (Nainggit?)
Feb Fair 2006 - last Feb Fair ko sa LB. Huhu.. But I promise na babalik ako dun this year para maki-celebrate. Hehe..
Graduate na!!! - Yup! After four years of meeting deadlines, attending classes, studying Dev Com and other stuff, naka-graduate din ako ON TIME. (kelangan talaga may emphasis sa "on time") Proud ako kasi naman maraming hadlang sa LB para maka-graduate ka sa tamang oras. (e.g. gimik, org..)
Death - I have never thought about death as much as I did in 2006. Two men that I know died last year. First is Kuya Ador. He’s my parent’s inaanak sa kasal. My parents treated him and his wife, Ate Fe, like their own kids. It’s so sad that he died due to cancer…
In October, Sir Inggo passed away. He’s among the stockholders of Prime Green (where I used to work), and he’s the only "powerful" guy in the office that was so kind to the employees. He’s really a good guy, and I’m glad that I got to know him better before I left the company…
Due to the death of the two people that are dear to me, I realized that I’m not afraid to die, I just don’t want to.. Wag muna..pls lang..mahirap mang-iwan.
Work, Work, Work - Eto na siguro ang pinakakalokang parte ng buhay ko so far. I had three jobs in less than a month. San ka pa? Parang di nga raw ako nagtatrabaho. Parang internship lang ang lahat na iyon.. Pero after that andito na ko sa Intelligraph, which is a much better company. Hay.
Kaya after all the shit, I’m happy I had new friends.
Hehe. Happy new year!
